Hand Made In Italy - Watch the R58 Being Made

Body Construction

The Rocket R58 is made with high quality AISI 304 stainless steel, providing long lasting beauty and durability. Even the cup frame surround is made with stainless steel.

Commercial Grade Brew Head

Weighing in at 9 lbs, the Rocket R58 has one of the highest quality, commercial grade group heads available, providing outstanding heat stability. Heat stability is a crucial part of making good espresso as temperature fluctuations can greatly alter the flavor and consistency of brewed espresso.

Dual Pre-Infusion System

Obtain smooth coffee extraction with great aroma, body, and “crema” through a dual pre-infusion system. The system features a mechanical pre-infusion system with a progressively working piston and static pre-infusion chamber. Anyone who has done their research in the espresso machine market will know this is a unique feature that isn’t available on many competing espresso machines.

Two Copper Boilers

The boiler for coffee brewing has a 0.58 liter capacity, while the second boiler has a 1.7 liter capacity and is used for steaming / hot water dispensing. Both boilers are made with high quality copper and come with brass end plates, providing great heat stability. For additional temperature stability, the boilers have external insulation. Heating power is optimized to result in quick heat up times. The brewing boiler uses 1400 watts and the steaming / hot water dispenser boiler uses 1400 watts. When the boilers are used simultaneously, the combined power consumption of both boilers combined is 1550 watts.

Commercial Grade Rotary Water Pump

For optimal performance, the Rocket R58 features a commercial grade, high quality, rotary water pump. It even has external pressure adjustment for enhanced pressure control.

Dual Pressure Gauges

Monitor the pressure in each boiler with high quality, dual pressure gauges – one gauge for each boiler.

Cool Touch Steam Wand

One of the nicest features of the Rocket R58 is the cool touch, anti-burn, stainless steel steam wand. Only the nozzle gets hot during operation, making operation, safe and worry free. As an added benefit, milk doesn’t bake to the wand during operation, making cleaning a breeze. The steam nozzle is designed for easy milk frothing and can produce some of the finest microfoam possible.

Automatic Level Control

A microprocessor is used to automatically control the water level in both boilers. An additional low water indication system monitors the water reservoir to ensure that water level doesn’t get too low. Operating the machine without water can cause costly damage to the heating element. The low water indication system helps prevent this from happening.

Water Reservoir or Direct Water Connection

The Rocket R58 has two water options – a reservoir or a direct water connection. The water reservoir has a capacity of 2.5 liters. The espresso machine also has a full drip tray drainage system.

Differences Between Alex Duetto 3 and the Rocket R58

  • Both the Alex Duetto 3 and the Rocket R58 are pretty large machines and can take up a lot of space on the counter, but the Alex Duetto 3 is about 2 inches wider than the Rocket R58.
  • The boilers on the Duetto are a little larger than those on the Rocket R58 - so you can brew and steam longer for more drinks, etc.
  • Some customers say the build quality of the drip tray is somewhat lacking on the Alex Duetto 3. The Rocket R58 doesn't get these complaints.
  • The Rocket R58 is a 15amp machine. The Alex Duetto is available in 15 or 20 amp. Compared to a Duetto running on 20 amp, the steam is weaker with the Rocket R58.
  • The Rocket R58 has dual pre-infusion
  • The Rocket R58 has a slightly larger (0.1 liter difference) water reservoir.
  • Portafilter handles on the Alex Duetto 3 are a little more ergonomical compared to the Rocket R58 portafiler handles.

If you return within 30 days, you get a full refund minus shipping costs. If you return after 30 days, you get a store credit. Unlike our competitors – this is a 60 day trial period. Most competitors only allow 30 day returns if the product hasn’t been used. Many competitors will also charge expensive restocking fees if you read the fine print. The customer will receive a refund if the item is returned in like new condition, with all accessories that came with it, with all original, undamaged packaging, clean and packaged according to the specifications we provide. If the product is returned in this condition you will receive a full refund (or store credit if over 30 days) minus all shipping costs. We reserve the right to charge a restocking fee as outlined in our terms and conditions if the product is not returned as specified above.

There are the following exceptions to the 60 day return period: La Cimbali Junior Casa, Vesuvius by Ambient, Quick Mill Andreja Profiles, Vibiemme Double Domobar V4, Rocket R60, Rancilio Epoca, parts, accessories and all products listed under the commercial business section, here http://www.espressooutlet.net/commercial-machines/. For these exceptions all sales are final. See our terms and conditions for additional details.

Shipping
Free shipping with most orders - you must be located in the lower 48 continuous states and there is a minimum order amount of $29. An exception to this is commercial espresso machines and espresso machines that require shipment on a pallet via Less Than a Truckload. This is sometimes included free, but contact us for details.

In stock items that ship via UPS usually ship within 1 to 2 business days. Heavier products such as commercial espresso machines are shipped via freight truck strapped to a pallet and it generally takes 1 to 3 business days to benchtest and arrange shipment. Transit times depend on the distance being shipped, but this map provides a general idea of shipment times in business days for items shipped via UPS. Freight truck shipment usually takes 3 to 8 business days depending on distance.

IMPORTANT: Water quality is a very important aspect of your espresso machine longevity. Water that is too hard will cause limescale buildup, which is the number one reason for operating problems. Too pure water, such as ultra pure RO water or distilled water can cause the machine to overfill, since the water level probe needs some minerals in the water to detect water. Use softened water that is about 50ppm in hardness. More info

PLEASE NOTE: Most machines and grinders are inspected for damage after being shipped from overseas. This means most boxes will have signs of being opened even though they are brand new products. This is done to ensure that the equipment made the international shipment in good condition and working order.

COMMERCIAL EQUIPMENT NOTE: Most commercial equipment ships on a pallet and has to be bench tested prior to shipment. For this reason, commercial equipment usually ships out three to five business days after the order is received. Some commercial equipment is also special order and/or has limited availability, so please check with us prior to placing an order. Check terms and conditions page for terms relating to commercial equipment.
