Nuova Simonelli presents its flagship espresso machine the Aurelia II, recognized in the coffee industry as one of the top-performing machines on the market today. The Aurelia II has been named the official espresso machine of the World Barista Championship (WBC). With over 100 years collaborating with top engineers and scientists, the level of sophistication, technology and superior espresso extraction Nuova Simonelli has achieved with this machine is remarkable. The ultimate performance at an affordable price makes it an unbeatable option for medium-high turnover shops.

Operation is intuitive for both machines for even the most novice user. On the semi-automatic, the user can start and stop the extraction by simply pushing the button located above each grouphead. The Aurelia II also has a manual button if the user prefers to utilize it like a semi-automatic, but it also has programmed shot dosing. The volumetric also comes with the option of adding an easy cream wand and comes standard with automatic cleaning.

100+ years of development and collaboration with top engineers and scientists have resulted in a machine with the most superior temperature stability. The thermos-siphonic grouphead and the heat-exchanging system can operate consistently with only one boiler and its own water supply. The heat-exchanging system is able to operate the brew and steam simultaneously. Other comparable machines utilize other heat sources and multiple boilers to maintain some level of consistency but still can only accomplish stability of temperature between brews to 30 degrees Celsius, but the Aurelia II is capable of achieving stability of 0.5 – 1 degree Celsius with each and every extraction with its own water supply and a single boiler making the level of consistency and thermal equilibrium unmatched. The boiler is created from copper, which is known for its thermo-stability. Copper is also safer as it will not explode and it is also antibacterial.

A feature that is tremendously appreciated by baristi is Nuova Simonelli’s patented Soft Infusion System (SIS). This revolutionary system design decreases the importance of a perfectly even tamp which means less user error. This special design delays the full pressure of the pump for a few seconds to achieve a full, even saturation of the puck which reduces cracks/ channeling and a less than exemplary extraction. Though tamping is still recommended, this system can actually pull a decent shot without it!

One of Nuova Simonelli’s primary objectives when developing the Aurellia II was to pay impeccable attention to every detail on every feature to assure ergonomic functionality, in fact it is the only machine certified by the European Institute of Ergonomics and Psychology. Ergonomic details include cool-touch steam wands (optional), smooth locking inclined portafilters, visually exposed grouphead design, wide visual field and push-pull steam controls.

Nuova Simonelli has added an LED lighted work surface for ease of visualization on all fields. Watching the foam form inside of a dark milk frothing pitcher can be frustrating to baristi, but with the optional milk light, the inside of the pitcher is illuminated for easy visualization.

A popular feature on the Aurelia II is the reverse mirror. This feature demonstrates Nuova Simonelli’s attention to every fine detail. Baristi will appreciate being able to visualize the coffee filter output without bending over to see under the grouphead.

An optional feature on this unit that users will find extremely useful is the raised grouphead. The increased space in-between the portafilter and the drip tray enables this machine to fit tall cups, a feature not present in many other espresso machines. When the grouphead is set low, the barista must extract into a shot glass or an espresso cup and then transfer the beverage into a taller cup, wasting time and efficiency. In the commercial environment where time is money, this feature is dollars in your pocket

The two stainless steel arms have the option of being cool-touch, meaning no more burns from accidentally touching the wand during operation. The cool-touch feature also helps to prevent the layer of burnt milk that can build up on the wand from forming. An optional feature that is also loved by baristi is the easy cream function, which automatically steams milk to pre-programmed temperature. The arms have been designed to be extra long to accommodate all sizes of frothing pitchers. In addition, the push-pull controls have been carefully constructed to maximize ease of use. With a minute push downwards, users can release an incredibly powerful amount of steam, no awkward wrist twisting or turning necessary. While the push-pull system is obviously easier to operate, it is also more effective at bringing the milk to temperature faster. Between the superior insulation and advanced boiler system as well as the 12 pound grouphead, users are guaranteed never to run low on powerful steam. Even at its highest performance, the Aurelia II is incredibly efficient, it actually conserves water and energy which will result in reduced bills and less impact on the environment.

A raised hot water spigot design allows further accommodation of taller cups. As most espresso machines do not recommend making Americanos with the hot water spigot for the simple reason that the water dispensed is boiling hot (too hot to drink!), Nuova Simonelli has integrated a specially designed hot water system to eliminate burns incurred by drinking boiling hot Americanos or burns acquired from the sputtering of hot water during delivery by mixing cool water into the boiling hot water to reduce the temperature. Because the cool water addition reduces the hot water removed from the boiler, less water is required to refill the boiler which maintains steam pressure.

No more lugging around heavy water tanks for emptying and refilling with the Aurelia II’s direct water connection. This feature reduces the risk of frying the heating element from accidentally running the machine on an empty tank which devastates many espresso machines.

Free shipping with most orders - you must be located in the lower 48 continuous states and there is a minimum order amount of $29. An exception to this is commercial espresso machines and espresso machines that require shipment on a pallet via Less Than a Truckload. This is sometimes included free, but contact us for details.

In stock items that ship via UPS usually ship within 1 to 2 business days. Heavier products such as commercial espresso machines are shipped via freight truck strapped to a pallet and it generally takes 1 to 3 business days to benchtest and arrange shipment. Transit times depend on the distance being shipped, but this map provides a general idea of shipment times in business days for items shipped via UPS. Freight truck shipment usually takes 3 to 8 business days depending on distance.

IMPORTANT: Water quality is a very important aspect of your espresso machine longevity. Water that is too hard will cause limescale buildup, which is the number one reason for operating problems. Too pure water, such as ultra pure RO water or distilled water can cause the machine to overfill, since the water level probe needs some minerals in the water to detect water. Use softened water that is about 50ppm in hardness. More info

PLEASE NOTE: Most machines and grinders are inspected for damage after being shipped from overseas. This means most boxes will have signs of being opened even though they are brand new products. This is done to ensure that the equipment made the international shipment in good condition and working order.

COMMERCIAL EQUIPMENT NOTE: Most commercial equipment ships on a pallet and has to be bench tested prior to shipment. For this reason, commercial equipment usually ships out three to five business days after the order is received. Some commercial equipment is also special order and/or has limited availability, so please check with us prior to placing an order. Check terms and conditions page for terms relating to commercial equipment.
