Lelit has outdone themselves with their Lelit PL60PLUST Diana espresso machine. This machine has everything the prosumer could want in a compact, affordable package. The results do not lie, consistent flavorful espresso with every extraction. This Italian-made machine has many advanced features including a professional stainless steel exterior, double boilers, a brass grouphead, dual vibration pumps and PID temperature control. This machine is perfect for the home user who would like a higher end machine without the high end cost.

The Diana is professional in function and in appearance. Composed of reflective stainless steel, this unit looks as impressive as it functions. With such a lengthy advanced features list, one would think this machine would be complicated to learn how to use, but the Diana is surprisingly easy to operate. Two power switches are located on the side panel, one to control the main power and the other to operate steam. The brew, steam and hot water functions are enabled by the simple flick of a toggle switch. Dedicated pilot lights are located on the front of the machine to indicate brew, hot water, steam and low water. Both the water reservoir and dual drip tray are removable for emptying and refilling. The power cord is fully removable from the rear of the machine to facilitate easy storage.

A sought-after feature on this model that appeals to many advanced users is the double boiler. Having two boilers means the user can brew and steam at the same, improving efficiency and thus saving time.  This feature especially appeals to the user who makes consecutive coffee beverages such as at a house party. Lelit has cleverly composed each boiler of different material to optimize function. The brew boiler is made up of brass to optimize temperature stability and the steam boiler is constructed of stainless steel to maximize steam power consistency.

The pressure of both the steam and brew boilers can be monitored on the easy-to-visualize gauge conveniently located on the front of the machine. The top half of the gauge measures the pressure of the steam boiler (0-4 bar), optimal range is 0.8 to 1.3 bar. The bottom portion of the gauge is designated for the brew boiler pressure which is 0-16 bar with 8-10 bar being the preferred range.

Another impressive element on this machine is the presence of two vibration pumps. Each pump is dedicated to operating a separate boiler, this ensures peak pressure is available for steaming and brewing.
Advanced users will appreciate the ability to control the temperature of the brew and steam boilers using the digital PID display. The temperature is easily altered by using the up and down arrow buttons located on either side of the digital screen.

A perfect brew is only achievable with a grouphead that is capable of maintaining stable temperatures, this is why Lelit has produced a brass grouphead as one of the major properties of brass is heat stability. Lelit has also included a professional-grade 58 mm portafilter with the Lelit logo stamped on the filter head to help attain that perfect espresso.

The steam wand is able to be maneuvered in various directions to accommodate different-sized mugs and frothing pitchers. With a dedicated boiler to ensure maximum steam power, users will be preparing the silkiest, frothiest lattes and cappuccinos. Lelit has equipped the drip tray with a special hole to promote dispersal of the steam and condensate. The dedicated hot water tap is fixed into place and is perfect for making hot chocolate and tea. It is recommended not to dispense more than 4 ounces of water at a time to ensure the boiler is able to be refilled by the pump

Detailed Review. Top three most detailed reviews will get 50 bonus entries Best double boiler, double pump espresso machine for the price on the market. Can set temperature on both sides, and adjust as needed. Brew boiler warms up first within 5 minutes, followed by the steam boiler. Make sure to use water softener filter in the tank, or softened water. Can descale the brew boiler as is, however, cannot descale the steam boiler without taking it apart and removing (need to have spare pump to flush the tank with descaling solution - not for the normal home user, maybe a shop can provide this service for a reasonable fee?).

IMPORTANT: Water quality is a very important aspect of your espresso machine longevity. Water that is too hard will cause limescale buildup, which is the number one reason for operating problems. Too pure water, such as ultra pure RO water or distilled water can cause the machine to overfill, since the water level probe needs some minerals in the water to detect water. Use softened water that is about 50ppm in hardness. More info

PLEASE NOTE: Most machines and grinders are inspected for damage after being shipped from overseas. This means most boxes will have signs of being opened even though they are brand new products. This is done to ensure that the equipment made the international shipment in good condition and working order.

COMMERCIAL EQUIPMENT NOTE: Most commercial equipment ships on a pallet and has to be bench tested prior to shipment. For this reason, commercial equipment usually ships out three to five business days after the order is received. Some commercial equipment is also special order and/or has limited availability, so please check with us prior to placing an order. Check terms and conditions page for terms relating to commercial equipment.
