The Compak E5 has a 650 Watt Motor vs the Mazzer Mini that has a 250 watt motor. The larger motor on the Compak E5 will provide smoother grinding and reduces friction during grinding and heat build up. For this reason, the coffee temp during grinding is lower on the Compak E5, providing better flavor. The Compak E5 also has an electronic cooling fan.
The Compak E5 Short Hopper holds .66lb. The Mazzer Mini Electronic Type A, holds about twice as much at 1.3lbs. Both hoppers on both grinders are made with clear plastic.
Both grinders are doserless. Doserless grinders tend to make a little more mess, but they retain less grinds between use due to the lack of the doser. Retained grinds go stale after grinding, effecting the flavor of subsequent shots.

The Compak E5 has three position power switch (Automatic, Manual, Off) and LCD touch screen operation that allows you to program the grind time as well as track a data such as burr replacement time. The Mazzer Mini has an electronic touch pad. The operating buttons are located on the top of the dosing funnel.
