The Vibiemme Domobar Super Double was a great machine in the past and how it has become an even better one. One of the goals of the most recent update was to make it a machine that wouldn’t have performance reduction if it was operated with 15 amp electrical connection rather than a 20 amp connection. With version 3.5, the engineers who worked on the upgrade did a good job meeting this requirement.
One of the nicest features of this machine is it’s true double boiler operation. Each boiler can be operated independently of the other one. With single boiler systems, there is a wait time between brewing and steaming, this wait time is eliminated. The coffee boiler is made with high quality copper with a 0.5 liter capacity. The steam boiler is also made with copper, but has a 1.9 liter capacity boiler. Both boilers are insulated with a special material that provides great temperature stability and a reduction in energy consumption.
Another great feature on this machine is the commercial grade, rotary vane water pump. Compared to vibratory pumps that are typically found on espresso machines, the rotary vane pump is much quieter, providing a better operating experience.
A lot of double boiler espresso machines are in a similar class require a dedicated 20 amp circuit, or suffer from performance loss if they are operated in a 15 amp environment. One of the most competitive features of this machine is that it can be operated in a 15 amp environment without any performance issues. This capability is achieved in part, by using specially designed boiler insulation that reduces energy requirements. However, the main technology that enables this capability is an innovative system called Power Management Control System. This system monitors and modifies the power supplied to each heating element based on demand. This regulation system keeps the total amperage draw to 15 or below at all times on a 110 to 120 volt connection.
The Vibiemme Domabar Super Double v3.5 offers the versatility of a high capacity water reservoir and a direct water line connection. With 2.1 liter capacity, you can make numerous shots of espresso and steam numerous milk based drinks without requiring a refill. If a refill is required, you don’t have to stop the machine, simply add some water while it’s running.
If your operating location has the option of a direct water line connection, a direct connection option is built into the machine and is shipped with a stainless steel water line hose. Along with having a direct water line connection option, the machine also provides the ability to convert it to plumbed drain mode. It comes with fittings to convert the drip tray and has a drain hose that is about 1 meter long.
The grouphead on the Vibiemme Domobar Super Double v3.5 is a legendary, extra heavy E61 grouphead that provides outstanding heat stability and maintains a flow of water between the grouphead and the brew boiler. Temperature stability is a critical aspect in producing amazing espresso. The lack of proper temperature control can greatly alter the flavor and consistency of the final shots produced. With an E61 grouphead, the temperature stability it provides is unmatched according to many experts and prosumers.
