Product Description

Video by our supply partner Chris's Coffee.

One of the best-selling home espresso machines in the United States and many other countries is the La Spaziale S1 Mini Vivaldi II. It is fully capable of producing very high quality espresso and espresso based drinks. It is very similar to the S1 Vivaldi II, another very popular home machine, but has a few distinguishing features including a water reservoir versus a direct water line connection. Home users who don’t have the plumbing connections needed for the S1 Vivaldi II, will love the water reservoir on the S1 Mini Vivaldi II.

The features on the Mini Vivaldi II are just as advanced as the ones that come with the Vivaldi II.

Dual Boiler System

Brew and steam at the same time with the two boiler system on the S1 Mini Vivaldi II. One boiler is dedicated to brewing and the other to steaming, allowing for simultaneous use, making the process of making lattes, cappuccinos and other milk based drinks much quicker and easier. Another benefit of a dual boiler system is better temperature control, which is a critical element in making perfect espresso drinks.

To protect the other components in the machine and for additional heat stability, both boilers are covered with a special insulation material. The steaming/hot water boiler has a capacity of 1.2 liters, which will allow for plenty of steaming and hot water production. The brew boiler is .45 liters.

Automatic Boiler Refill

The Mini Vivaldi II has an electronic system that monitors the boiler level to determine if there is enough water in it. As soon as additional water is needed, it is automatically added to the boiler. A thermostat regulates how much is added and keeps the temperature stable. The benefit of this system is protection from overheating and temperature consistency.

Quiet Pump

This espresso machine has a vibratory pump that is engineered to provide great performance while producing as little noise as possible. To protect the pump from any damage, it has a safety feature that will turn the pump off to prevent possible damage.

Swivel Mounted Steam Wand

The tip of the steam wand has four 0.9 mm holes that provide outstanding steam for making superb microfoam. The steam valve is a commercial grade component that is built for long term, reliable performance.

Volumetric Dosing

The machine has single and double shot control buttons that can be programmed to provide consistent sized shots every time they are pressed. Simply decide on the amount you like and program it for that amount. Once programmed, you’ll get your desired amount each time you make espresso.

Commercial Grade Portafilter

m-vivaldi-ii-6.jpgThe machine comes with two high quality, 53mm, brass portafilters that are chrome plated, providing outstanding temperature stability and long lasting durability. One of the portafilters is a single shot, the other is a double shot.

i bought this machine today and its my second one i love it..

  2. Compact, Low-Profile, Easy to Use

I bought this machine as a first time "serious" coffee machine. I evaluated many machines, but ultimately picked this one because it's a serious machine with dual boilers, yet will operate efficiently on 15 amps. I also thought a taller machine would represent a challenge to my counter space. Boy, was I right about that! This machine is still quite large, but it tucks under my cabinets quite well, and still has room for cups on top. I've made some seriously good coffee with this machine and my Mazzer Mini E grinder.

I ordered mine with the red ends, which are slightly pinkish and not as "red" as I'd hoped, but I think it looks sharp. I've seen this machine offered with wooden ends which are WAY expensive, but look fantastic. Being a woodworker, I may tackle making wooden ends for it at some point.

I also ordered an optional pre-infusion chamber for it, which wets the coffee before the pump starts... supposedly causing the coffee to begin to release flavor sooner. It's about a 2-3 second period before the pump starts.

The steam wand is first rate and does a really great job at Latte foam (looks like paint) or Cappucino foam (looks like whipped cream on top).

So far, I'm very happy with this machine!
